The 60º measuring angle can be used on any surface, from matte to glossy. 60° Glossmeter is also known as “universal glossmeter”.
The angle of 20° is suitable for high gloss surfaces.
The angle of 85° is more applicable for low gloss surfaces. Measurement at three angles will help to comprehensively evaluate the gloss characteristics of a product.

BEVS Intelligent Glossmeter offers three testing modes for different applications: basic mode, continuous mode and statistic mode.
01 Basic Mode
Measurements can be done directly on individual samples and measurement records are saved. If the target value, upper limit and lower limit of the gloss of the sample are set in advance, the deviation value and the pass rate will be counted, which is very useful for tracking changes in the gloss level of a sample or comparing measurement results at different points in time.
02 Continuous mode
In this mode, the instrument consecutively measures (2~10 times/group) the gloss of the sample surface and automatically count the maximum value, minimum value and average value of the measurement results of the group. If the target value, upper limit and lower limit of the gloss of the sample are set in advance, the pass rate will be counted at the same time. It is suitable for sampling inspection of products on production lines or loading/unloading lines.
03 Statistic mode
Statistic mode is basically the same compared to the continuous mode in terms of the statistic items. But it can be used for multiple measurements (2~10 times/group) of a single product, and is particularly suitable for products whose surface gloss may change due to the production process, material properties or environmental factors.
With multiple measurements and statistic data analysis, users can get a more accurate average gloss value, conducive to the assessment of the overall quality of the product.
